Welcome to the search section of the Brazil São Paulo
South Mission. The purpose of this section is to provide search options helping
you find and identify areas of interest within the mission website.
Here is an overview of the search sections on the mission website. Links to these sections can be found
on the left of this text or in the drop-down menus in the green bar above.
Basic Search
The Basic Search option allows you to search using just a name (first, middle, or last) or
any part of the name you may know. This will return anyone that matches - be it a parent,
Brazilian member living in the mission, former missionary, a missionary currently serving,
and so forth.
Advanced Search
The Advanced Search option allows you to build a more advanced query for the search engine. Using
this option, you can specify parts of the name, the exact type of person you are looking for, and so forth.
This is useful if you want to have more ability to filter the results.
Regional Search
The Regional Search option has not yet been released, but will in the near future. The Regional Search option
will allow you to find people based on where they live. This is often used when arranging a party or get-together
allowing you to find those people that live near you.
Recent Visitors
The Recent Visitors option allows you to see the people that have visited the mission website in the last month.
This is very useful if you want to see if former companions or friends have visited the site lately.
By President
This search option has not yet been released and is still under consideration. The proposed idea is to provide
a way to find a particular missionary based on which president they served under. This information is available
under the associated mission president already, hence this option may be removed.
Area Search
The Area Search option is in development right now. When released, you will be able to search for a particular
area you may have served in. This is useful as the areas are grouped by the current groupings. As areas tend
to move and get name changes, this search tool will help you find the area you are looking for.
Forum Search
The Forum Search option lets you search forum messages. This search tool uses a full text index. This means
you can just type in a sentence and the search tool will return the most relevant results to your entry.
